Author Guidelines

Paper Submission

Prospective authors are invited to submit original and unpublished work, in English, with up to 6 pages (9 pages for survey papers) including results, figures and references. Overlength submissions will not be reviewed.

Authors should follow carefully all instructions and guidelines provided in the IEEE conference style and use the respective template (two-column Word or LaTeX templates). Manuscripts must be submitted in PDF format using the Microsoft CMT submission system.

The review process will be single-blind (author’s names can be reported in the submitted papers).

For submission deadlines, notification dates and other relevant dates see Important Dates.

Accepted papers will be chosen for either an oral presentation or poster presentation. For a paper to be included in the conference proceedings, at least one author is required to:

  • be registered with a full registration no later then the Latest Author Registration Date. Each full registration covers at most 1 (one) paper;
  • attend the workshop to present the paper.

Paper Presentation

The conference will be held as an in-person event. The format of the presentation is not fixed yet.

Be prepared to hold one, or more, of the following types of presentations:

  • Oral Presentation
  • Poster Presentation

Camera-Ready Submission Information

The final camera-ready paper and the IEEE electronic copyright form are required no later than Camera Ready Submission Deadline as given on the Important Dates page.

Authors are required to include their names and affiliations in the camera ready version of their papers.

Before creating your camera-ready PDF file

  • Proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision.
  • Add the copyright notice to the bottom of the first page of your source document.

The appropriate copyright clearance code notice is to appear on the bottom of the first page of each paper according to the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging/Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding. Use official IEEE templates to insert the copyright notice at the correct location.

  • For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is:
U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is:
    978-1-6654-6962-3/22/$31.00 ©2022 Crown
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is:
    978-1-6654-6962-3/22/$31.00 ©2022 European Union
  • For all other papers the copyright notice is:
    978-1-6654-6962-3/22/$31.00 ©2022 IEEE

If you are preparing your paper in LaTeX and you are using the IEEEtran document class, the following example might help:

Add the following code before the \maketitle command:

\IEEEoverridecommandlockouts
\IEEEpubid{\makebox[\columnwidth]{978-1-6654-6962-3/22/\$31.00~\copyright2022 IEEE \hfill} \hspace{\columnsep}\makebox[\columnwidth]{ }}

Add the following code after the \maketitle command:

\IEEEpubidadjcol

After creating your camera-ready PDF file

The final camera-ready PDF file needs to be validated for IEEE Xplore compliance using IEEE PDF eXpress service.

Creating your PDF eXpress Account

Log in to the IEEE PDF eXpress site: http://ieee-pdf-express.org

First-time users should do the following:

  1. Select the New Users - Click Here link.
  2. Enter the following:
    • 55382X for the Conference ID
    • your email address
    • a password
  3. Continue to enter information as prompted.

An online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.

You will then be able to upload your PDF (or source) file to the validation system, which will email you a validation confirmation. Following this process, please upload your validated camera-ready paper to the Microsoft CMT submission system, where you will also be able to submit the electronic copyright form.

IMPORTANT: Any changes made to a PDF after IEEE PDF eXpress conversion or PDF

Checking, including the copyright notice, may invalidate Xplore compatibility. Each PDF will be checked to verify that the creation date matches the last modified date. If the dates don't match, the PDF cannot be accepted because the modification may have jeopardized Xplore compatibility.

IEEE copyright transfer

t the moment of final manuscript submission, the IEEE copyright transfer agreement must be submitted electronically. This can be easily performed by clicking "Submit IEEE Copyright Form" in the Microsoft CMT submission system.

  • You will need to come back to this page in CMT in order to upload the signed copyright form
  • By following the link "Click here to redirect to the IEEE Copyright Web Site", you will be redirected to IEEE eCF site to complete the copyright form
  • Upon completion, there is an option to download the completed IEEE Copyright Form in PDF. Make sure to download a copy of the completed form. When you are finished, you will be redirected back to Author Console in CMT.
  • In your Author Console, go back to IEEE copyright form submission and upload your signed PDF form
